In spite of what your parents told you

If you hear the message for the first time:

You are not the person you believe yourself to be

it seems just words,  strange,  maybe too abstract.

And yet if you investigate a little,
you will find out that it is true.
In spite of what your parents, society,
everyone around you
seems to have instilled in you.:
You are not a person.

You are a perceiving capacity.

And this is your experience if you investigate,
if you actually want to find out if this is true.

Go to your actual experience,  right now.
Not to the mind,  not to the reasoning.

Perceiving is on going at all times.
Sights,  smells,  tastes, sounds,
sensations, thoughts and feelings.

Information coming into this Space at all times
This aware space.
Even the perception of a person,  this body mind
is noticed.

By whom?

It sees,
but can itself not be seen.
It notices everything
but is itself invisible.

It is identification with being a person which makes
one feel limited and separate.

As soon as the identification drops
( through simply investigating your own experience )
and one knows oneself to be a perceiving capacity,
one becomes aware that one is and always have been
this limitless aware Something
in which all takes place.

If you are interested..
find out.

Early morning sunlight
dancing through the windows

a dripping tap

crows, pigeons,

tree pies and peacocks

a coppersmith
bird singing all around

the stone floor cool
beneath the feet.

the blinking lights of the modem

some stumbling sounds from
the neighbors house

signs of appetite
and a thought of coffee and breakfast appearing.

Noticing,  perceiving
ongoing at all times
by no one in particular.

It is just seeing things as they are

Are you serious?

Are you serious?
Do you want to know the truth more
than anything?

Provided the need to know the truth is paramount,
and its not just to feel good that you are on the path,
you might want to look at this seeking conundrum
in another way:

Why is This,
this perspective,
what we are, so difficult to see?
Why is it that we are willing to spend hours,
days, weeks,  months and years
trying to fathom what is pointed at?

Going on retreats,  to satsangs,  reading books
and immerse ourselves on the internet.
Spending 1000 of dollars,
euros,  rupees in the process.
Never reaching.

( Of course it could not have been otherwise.
Its Oneness playing the game of a separate person
seeking for Itself,  and even wanting to feel good
is only Oneness playing the game.  There is never
anything outside of This.  No separate person exists )

While all the while you are It already.

This paradox is the most perplexing once It is seen.

You want an answer?
What do you think?
What is the problem here?
Where do you go off the rails?
Any idea,
any inkling?

It is like the zen koan of Alan Watts:

Trying to understand God
is like trying to fall in love with a kilometer.

You are using the wrong instrument,
tool to apprehend
what is pointed at.

The mind will never get this.

So where does this leave you?

Well?

Any idea?

Don't answer..
